Apple releases Lion OS X 10.7.4 to address security issues and bug fixes

Yesterday, Wednesday, May 9, 2012, Apple released OS X Lion 10.7.4 to address security issues and bug fixes. This update is recommended for all users of Lion to improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your system.

The security updates included many items. However, the most publicized patched was for a flaw that allowed remote admins and persons with physical access to the system to obtain account information.

This flaw was introduced in OS X 10.7.3 and the effected only those using Legacy File Vault. For those effected, logs would contain sensitive information such as passwords in a visible format. For more information on this security bug, check out the article on TUAW.

Interestingly enough, when viewing the details of the update in Software Update, users would see the list of bug fixes and were directed to an Apple webpage for the more extensive security updates.
