Netflix: Still Cheaper Than the Popcorn

Well, I got my letter just like the rest...actually it was an email, but letter sounded better...announcing that Netflix decided to changed their plans. Now, instead of the $9.99 that got you unlimited DVDs to the house (one at a time, mind you), and unlimited streaming, we will now need to pay $15.98 for the same plan.

Needless to say, I was not too happy since a few months ago, Netflix raised the price from $7.99 to $9.99. I thought of a few choice things to tweet, but a little voice told me I should not be too harsh. That voice was probably my wife's as I remember talking about the last increase and agreeing it was still decent since we don't go to the movies much. The only movies we see end up being family-friendly to accommodate the tastes of our 8 and 6 year old. Without the random 3D costs most of these movies charge, it costs quite a bit for all of us see one show. If we are lucky to find a matinee, it still cost us $24 to get in. Since it would be silly to see a movie without the popcorn and drinks, our day and savings gets depicted further. Two drinks and one popcorn costs us another $15-$24.
